Custom Filler Neck allows using the 22 Gallon 1970 Mustang Gas tank in 1965-66 Mustangs.
Fits with no other modifications! This will give you an extra 6 gallons of fuel capacity over the original tiny 16 gallon tank, which is almost 40% more fuel and range!
Install with a 1970 fuel gauge sender for best results. The original sending unit may be reused and will be accurate, except that the gauge will stay on full until the tank gets to about 3/4. (Always use a new fuel filler hose when replacing your filler neck.)
The 1970 22 Gallon Mustang tank fits right in the same space, and even the mounting screw holes will line up perfectly. The only difference is the ’70 tank sticks up a couple inches higher inside the trunk, but is still about flat with the trunk floor. No difference can be seen from looking at the car from the outside.
This is a must have item for anyone who actually drives their Mustang and is tired of stopping for gas all the time, especially those with 4 barrel carburetors or any other performance enhancers that affect mileage.
This is a brand new, high quality made part, beautifully plated, made from thicker steel than original. It has correct vent notch for air that many are missing, and the flange is formed as original, and designed so that the fuel cap fits nice and tight. This part is improved in every way possible over an original Ford filler neck, yet it still looks like an NOS item!
