At Opentracker racing, we believe the AMC and AMX cars should have came from the factory with a roller spring perch.
Our rebuild process uses sealed roller bearings as the pivot point for the spring perch instead of a rubber bushing. This upgrade improves ride quality, responsiveness to the road, stability under braking and improved handling.
Stock spring perches use rubber as the bushing material between the spring perch and the control arm and that greatly increases the effort required for the suspension to move.
The reasons why a roller product improves how a classic drives is why we do what we do. Removing bind from the suspension pivot points is a huge gain to any performance driven vehicle.
This is a rebuild process. You will need to send in a usable set of core AMC /AMX spring perches that have been cleaned down to raw steel ( sand blasted ). If not, there is a $80 core charge for this product.
